|Dear Class of 2020,
On behalf of our entire SDSU family, I would like to give you my warmest congratulations
on your graduation! I hope you are as proud as we are of what you have accomplished,
and the steadfast dedication and commitment that got you here.
This is a bittersweet moment for our San Diego State University family, but especially
for you. We have all been looking forward to celebrating your achievements at our
traditional and deeply meaningful in-person Commencement ceremony.
Since circumstances prevent us from marking this milestone as we usually do, we invite
you, your family and your friends, to join us for a special virtual celebration, to
begin at noon (PDT) on Saturday, May 16. You will be able to access the virtual celebration
Livestream from the SDSU homepage and through Facebook Live on the university’s official
Stay in touch and visit www.sdsu.edu/commencement often. There, we will share more details about what we have planned for this special
day and fun ways you can begin to celebrate through social media and other platforms
leading up to the event. Also, we are inviting the entire university community, our
more than 400,000 alumni, and campus supporters to wear their red and black for “SDSU
Day” on May 16, while tuning in to show their support for the Class of 2020.
Know that your Aztec family loves you and wishes you continued success as you embark
on the next phase of your journey.
My very best,
Adela de la Torre
San Diego State University President
